Breakout Session

GIS and incident response

Making incident response safer and more efficient

In recent years, challenges to regulatory frontline staff have increased with more complex call outs and dealing with difficult customers. How can we ensure our staff are aware of risks present in the locations they are working? And how can we prepare officers to deal with incidents in a consistent way?

GIS presents multiple possibilities to view and access information relevant to incident response, compliance, and to highlight staff to areas of risk. I will take you through some recent projects at Greater Wellington that introduced GIS layers to better prepare officers for heading out on site.
