Mastering Management Plans

Management Plans are an important tool to ensure enduring effects are managed, but the reliance on these poses some challenges that we need to carefully consider.

Management Plans are an important tool to ensure enduring effects are managed, but the reliance on these poses some challenges that we need to carefully consider. Especially as it looks like the stakes are going to be raised if the new Fast Track Approvals Bill is passed.

In this presentation I will cover:

  • How to decide when to use a management plan condition

  • Best practice approach for drafting these conditions

  • The certification process

  • Compliance monitoring and enforcement of management plans

Importantly, this presentation will look at management plans from the perspective of the roles and responsibilities of planners, consent holders and compliance folk – it is vital that we are all on the same page if we are going to achieve good outcomes.
