Forestry Compliance – Regulating under pressure Panel Discussion
Wednesday 27th November, 10:30 - 11:00am, Main Plenary

Join us for a panel discussion on the transformative journey of Gisborne District Council in forestry, compliance and enforcement. Historically, Gisborne has been subjected to many weather events. In 2018 Gisborne District Council was forced to change its approach to monitoring the forestry sector. During this discussion our panelists will explore the highs and lows of environmental compliance in the Gisborne region, offering insights and reflections from key stakeholders. This discussion will be useful for those who would like to see what a small council can achieve in the area of compliance and enforcement when faced with extreme weather events.
